About WWOOF

WWOOF, or World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, is an international organization that allows willing workers, like myself, to find and volunteer with organic farmers. The organization was founded as Working Weekends on Organic Farms in England in 1971 and has spread across the world.

The United States chapter, WWOOF-USA, has been connecting farms with volunteers since 2001. For the most part, WWOOF is nothing but a database, a way for people who need or want help on their farm to connect with people who are willing to help them. But it also functions as an educational forum, a news hub, and a community for people involved in sustainable agriculture of all stripes.
